01 Mein neues Rad vom Sperrmüll
Durch einen glücklichen Zufall fällt mir bei meiner Ankunft in Salzburg ein neues Rad in die Hände.
Neu ist vielleicht das falsche Wort. Aber Ferdi – genau der Ferdi aus den Iran Videos – bei dem ich in Salzburg für ein paar Tage unterkommen kann, hat am Abend vor meiner Ankunft ein Fahrrad vor der Schrottpresse gerettet.
Nachdem ich Wandern zwar als spannendes Experiment angesehen habe, bin ich mit dieser Fortbewegungsart aber nie wirklich glücklich geworden.
So ist das Auftauchen eines Fahrrades wie eine Fügung höherer Mächte. Irgendjemand will wohl, dass ich wieder mit dem Rad reise.
Das Fahrrad, Marke Conway, hat ein paar Macken. Und eine Weltreise will ich damit bestimmt nicht bestreiten.
Die Bowdenzüge müssen erneuert werden. Ebenso die Bremsbeläge. Schaltung neu einstellen und ein Schutzblech von einem weiteren Schrottrad anpassen ist schnell erledigt.
Das Lagerspiel neu einstellen ist etwas fummelig. In der Hinterradnabe sind rechts und links unterschiedlich große Kugeln verbaut. Das ist mir so noch nicht untergekommen. Aber auch diese Hürde ist nach einem Fehlversuch geglückt. (Also ich hab’s natürlich erstmal falsch montiert).
Das Highlight sind ganz klar die Packtaschen. Nach längerem Suchen finde ich zwei Mülleimer in den passenden Maßen.
Zwei graue Klötze, die mit einem Designaward ausgezeichnet sind.
Ich persönlich halte sie für pottenhässlich.

Ich sehe das ganze Projekt tatsächlich ein wenig als Statement gegen die aktuelle Gentrifizierung der Fahrradindustrie.
Es wird versucht den Menschen weiß zu machen, ohne ein 4000€ Velotraum, kann man nicht den Donauradweg fahren.
Erfrischend einfach, wie es manchmal geht! Auch auf MTB-News.de gibt es einen Bericht über den Pamir-Highway (https://www.mtb-news.de/forum/t/pamir-highway-no-problem.865244/). Dort sind die Reisenden mitunter mit Bikes unterwegs, die ich für meinen Weg zur Arbeit als nicht vertrauenswürdig einstufen würde *lach*.
Ein klasse Projekt von Dir, Christian! Und meinen tiefsten Respekt vor der Einfachheit des Machens!

Ich muss allerdings gestehen, die Räder machen für mich einen ziemlich guten und Reisetauglichen Eindruck.
Mir ist aber auch schon aufgefallen, je weiter man wegfährt und je abenteuerlich das Gelände. Umso einfacher werden die Fahrräder denen man begegnet.

Ich habe mich damals überreden lassen ein Velotraum mit Rohloff Schaltung zu kaufen……
Bin zwar total zu Frieden würde die Schaltung nicht mehr hergeben, aber kaufen würde ich mir auch keine mehr….. Ein horror wäre wenn in Indien die Rohloff ihren Geist aufgeben würde 😂😂😂😂
Die nächste Schaltung wird wieder eine Kettenschaltung, wenn die mal kaputt ist kann ich sie jeder Zeit selber reparieren. Gruß aus Bayern und ich hoffe das du die nächsten 20 Jahre noch Videos machst 😉🙃
